Andre Lee Bassuet
Andre Lee Bassuet is a book artist who combines silkscreen and relief with hand paper making in her work. Her art primarily deals with memory and fleeting nature of human connection. She was born in Brooklyn, New York and received her Bachelors from New York University and Master of Fine Arts from Osaka University of Arts with a Monbusho scholarship in Japan. She also spent a year in independent study of paperworks at Seika University of Art in Kyoto. She studied bookbinding under Eiko Nakao Atelier in Kyoto, Centro del Bel Libro in Switzerland, and the Center for Book Arts in New York. She has exhibited in Providence, New York, Florida, Seattle, Red Lodge, Kyoto, Osaka and Shanghai. Andre Lee Bassuet lives and works in Rhode Island with her two daughters.
